Water released in Dubai Canal
Significant development suggest project is on schedule, turning the whole of Bur Dubai into a huge man-made island

Dubai: Water has been released in Dubai Canal for the first time during its three year period of construction as part of a testing process.
Though, the water level is comparatively low as against the proposed level of six metres, the depth canal will eventually have, this is a significant development indicating the project is on schedule.
According to an official, the release of water is part of a testing process and the level will be gradually increase through the next couple of weeks.
Construction work is moving at a great pace, with five pedestrian bridges being built at different locations of the canal, including a suspension bridge with a huge arch built about the canal.
